Meyer Family "Sauerkraut" Cake

Sour Kraut Cake: (Single)

4 eggs (2)
2 cups sugar (1)
1 cup scalded milk (1/2)
butter (size of egg)
2 cups flour (1)
2 teas. baking powder (1)
2 teas. vanilla (1)

Beat eggs well with beater, add sugar gradually add flour, baking powder, and vanilla.
Beat thoroughly with egg beater after adding hot milk with butter melted in it.
Bake in long pan, 350 for 30 mins.

Topping (DOUBLE TOPPING RECIPE FOR LARGE CAKE):

Cook the following together until melted:

6 Tabl. Brown sugar
3 Tabl. Butter
3 Tabl. cream

Sprinkle 1 cup coconut on top of cake, add the above mixture spooning it on.
Place under the broiler about 30 seconds. WATCH CAREFULLY, BURNS VERY QUICKLY.
